Chapter 2.2 - A New Start

My first day as the so-called Heir to the Bennett Family, I went out and got a job. Thought it might be a good idea for one thing, and I've always been interested in becoming a Superstar Athlete.

Instead of going home right away, I played guitar for some tips outside the building. I needed a stress-reliever, and it worked perfectly. I also ended up making a nice little chunk of change on the side. When I got home Dad insisted on painting a portrait of me for the Family Wall.

I then spent time before bed working out. I was so worried about work. From reading Mom's entries in this journal, I found out she had a hard time with her career choices. That she just wasn't happy with her jobs. I started worrying about if a sports career was really where I belonged. If I would have the same troubles as Mom did with her career choices.

Walking in the door to work the next day was the scariest and best thing I've ever done with my life. I love my job.

This weekend, Tabby bought a big chunk of ice. Huge. She decided she wanted to try sculpting in ice instead of clay. I am so glad that the sculptor's wheel is outside. That would be a mess I would not want to clean up. Dad was also awarded with an "Artist's Painted Ribbon" from the mayor for his artistic achievements! Way to go, Dad!

Sooner than I knew, it was Mom's birthday. I know she's been dreading it, so we had a small family-only party for her. I think she quite enjoyed it. And she definitely aged up very well.
